Mariano Gallo was born in Naples (Italy) in 1969.
Master Science in Civil Engineering (Transportation
Engineering specialization) in 1995 at University
of Naples Federico II, with a thesis in
Transportation Systems Management on Methodologies
for the planning and control of Urban Traffic Plans (Supervisor:
prof. Bruno Montella).
He obtained the qualification at Engineer profession in
1995 and belongs to the Engineering Association of Province of Naples
from the 25/9/1995.
He obtained the title of Ph.D. in Transportation
Engineering in 1999 with a dissertation on the
Equilibrium Road Network Design (Supervisor: prof. Ennio
Cascetta), at University of Rome
La Sapienza.
From March 2000 to April 2001 he was Research Associate
at Department of Transportation Engineering of the University of
Naples, in the topic of Design and Management of Transportation
Systems in Urban Area.
From May 2001 to October 2002 was Researcher (in
Transportation Engineering) at University of Naples.
From November 2002 is Associate Professor of
Transportation Engineering at University
of Sannio (Benevento), Faculty of Engineering,
Department
of Engineering.
Today is professor of TransportationTechnique and Economics and of Design of transportation systems
at University of Sannio.
Form November 2006 is Rector's
Delegate for Transportation and Mobility Management at University of Sannio.
He was member of the Teaching Staff of the Ph.D. course
in Trasportation (XVII and XVIII Cycle), at the
University of Naples.
He was teacher at several Masters and formation courses,
among which the Master in Programming and management of the
transportation systems, MANTRA, University of Naples, ISFORT,
ISVOR (2002) and the Master Economics and management of the
transportation systems, University of Rome Tor
Vergata, ISFORT (2002).
Main research activities focused on the planning of the
transit and individual transportation systems, the simulation of the
traffic flows on multimodal networks, the planning, the design and the
management of Local Public Transit systems.
He was author of beyond 60 papers
published on national and international books and journals.
He collaborated at several researches in the field of
the transportation, financed from Miur (PRIN), from the CNR (Finalized
Transportation Project 2), Naples (ATENA).
He collaborated with the Department of Transportation
Engineering of University of Naples to several contracts with public
agencies (Campania Region, Province of Naples).
